Events and workshop series

The Big House Elevator series for established businesses:
Take some time to meet with industry experts who will introduce new insights, practices and processes so that you can plan for your business’s future. Our recurring Elevator series offers events focusing on

  • mapping growth ambitions,
  • marketing,
  • sales,
  • managing finance,
  • and financing growth.

Within this series, there will be opportunity for businesses with a particular challenge or clear growth ambition to receive one-to-one mentoring.

Events for growing sole-traders and freelancers:
If you have been trading more than 12 months and want to grow and expand your business, our practical workshops will help you map your business plans and strategies using tools such as the Business Model Canvas. You’ll be invited to join ongoing peer-learning groups, enabling you to network and overcome challenges with other individual business owners.

The Big House Accelerator for digital and tech businesses:
The Big House Accelerator is open to talented, passionate founders and entrepreneurs from the digital and technology sectors in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire who want to fast-track their ideas and businesses.

Delivered by industry experts, and anchored by our Accelerator facilitators, you’ll receive high-value, high-quality learning, mentoring and support, bespoke to your needs. As part of an exclusive, carefully selected group of digital CEOs, The Big House Accelerator will support you to fast-track your business, open doors and prepare for your big conversations and opportunities.

Elevator Grant

Our Elevator Grant provides financial support for SMEs who are looking to buy external expertise (freelancers/talent) for their business growth. The grantreimburses 30% of the project cost, up to a maximum of £2550

Support from NTU Enterprise

Nottingham Trent University’s new Dryden Enterprise Centre (DEC) is a space designed for entrepreneurs, founders and SMEs to collaborate and grow.

The centre is also home to the NTU Enterprise team who provide programmes of support for start-up, growth and innovation.

This project is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund 2014-2020 (ERDF).


The Dryden Enterprise Centre (DEC)

The building offers flexible desk space, dedicated desks in shared office spaces, private offices ranging from 2 to 16 desks, meeting rooms and event spaces. Spaces are supported by free WiFi, 24/7 access, security, spaces to relax and a desirable city centre location – all in sleek and stylish surroundings.
