What are CreativeMornings

In 2008, Tina Roth Eisenberg (Swissmiss) started CreativeMornings out of a desire for an ongoing, accessible event for New York’s creative community. The concept was simple: breakfast and a short talk one Friday morning a month. Every event would be free of charge and open to anyone.

Today, attendees gather in cities around the world to enjoy fresh coffee, friendly people, and an international array of breakfast foods. Volunteer hosts and their team members organize local chapters that not only celebrate a city’s creative talent, but also promote an open space to connect with like-minded individuals. The growing archive of past breakfast talks is humbling. From design legends to hometown heroes, speakers are selected by each chapter based on a global theme.

CreativeMornings remains free thanks to the support of local partners, generous venues, and longterm global partners. Everyone is welcome. Everyone is creative. Just register beforehand to reserve your spot. And if you need a little help convincing your boss to let you attend, we’ve got you covered. Remember to set your alarm, and we’ll see you in the morning!

Monthly Theme - Spectrum

A band of colours, expanding definitions, a broad array of identities — we all live within multiple spectrums, colliding and intersecting with one another. Like the diversity in our foods, styles of music, and the skills we exercise, our needs are distinct with no one size fits all solution.

Understanding and championing other realities normalizes saying: What I experience, feel, and notice may not be what you know to be true. “Design for the spectrum and not the mean,” said Michael Kaufmann in his CreativeMornings talk. “How do we move beyond courteous hospitality to courageous inclusivity?”

As individuals committed to artfully living, we can paint refreshing possibilities that are not just for ourselves but also for others. Assemble your tools: Listen, look within, embrace the weird, and take the prism and flip it on its head — you’ll likely find a breathtaking blend of opportunities to make a difference.

Our Las Vegas chapter chose this month’s exploration of Spectrum and Landry Randriamandroso illustrated the theme.

May Speaker - Jo Berthelot

A

passion for language and how it can influence people is what led Jo to

start Crescent Copywriting – a specialised copywriting agency that

creates targeted marketing content for a whole range of industries.

Along

with a select and talented Crescent Copywriting cohort of freelancers,

Jo loves working with creative and digital agencies, as well as

independent companies that see the true value of well-crafted content.

The word of the month for September is ‘spectrum’. This is a word that’s

very close to Jo’s heart and part of her everyday. But for CMDerby,

she’ll be looking at how spectrums of varying kinds run throughout all

our lives.
