Six days of outdoor market celebrating local makers & creators

WHAT IS IT?

The Make & Trade Christmas Market is an amazing opportunity for local makers and creators to show and sell their wares in the unique setting of Derby Market Place.

The current alfresco dining chalets will be adapted and added to, allowing for up to twenty five market stall chalets.

The market will be enclosed with the site being managed by Derby City Council to allow for a safe, spacious outdoor market - one of the only public markets being held in the region thanks to the Covid secure arrangements in place.

The public will be welcome to enjoy the market from 10.00am to 4.00pm over the six days.

FANCY A CHALET?

Mainframe is taking over the whole market for six days and we are looking for local makers & creators to apply for a FREE CHALET for THREE or SIX DAYS!

We are looking for 25 chalet holders in total - ideally from Derby or Derbyshire.

You will need to commit to one of the following:

• The 18th - 23rd December 2020
• The 21st, 22nd & 23rd Dec 2020

(Chalets will be lockable and the site will have overnight security).

Set up will be on the evening of Thursday 17th December 2020 or Sunday 20th December and set down will be on the evening of Wednesday 23rd December 2020.

HOW DO I APPLY?

Applications close at 4pm on Wednesday 18 November 2020

Successful chalet holders will be contacted on Friday 20th November 2020

Chalets will be considerately selected by the Mainframe team to showcase the best of our local creative talent.

Applying does not guarantee a stall. All successful chalet holders will be contacted directly by the Mainframe Team with full chalet and market specifications and details (just so you know the basics they have heat, light, power & are lockable).

Chalet holders will require their own insurance.

WHAT ABOUT COVID, GOVERNMENT REGULATIONS & CANCELATION?

Derby Market Place is a Covid secure location and visitors to the market will be requested to follow current protocol and numbers shopping will be closely monitored.

Chalet holders will be expected to respect the safety measures in place.

As we are all aware the government advice on local activity could change at any time. Mainframe and Derby City Council will monitor this closely and Mainframe will keep stall holders notified of any changes as quickly as possible.

Please note that Mainframe is providing the opportunity to have a chalet free of charge. They will not be liable for any additional costs incurred should the market be unable to take place for any reason.
