WHAT IS IT?

A series of four, 3-hour workshops in Nottingham, designed to prepare you for setting up a pop up shop or market stall to sell your wares to new and existing customers.

WHO IS IT FOR?

Any designer, maker, potter, artist, photographer or developer who wants to sell their products and services at trade fairs and craft markets or who wants to run a pop up shop to test demand for their business idea.

WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

The series of four workshops are designed to help you promote your business, engage potential customers and make the most of retail opportunities. Plus, there is an independent research task for you to explore your business in more detail.

The series has been designed by and includes contributions from experienced independent businesses who regularly sell their products and services.

Each workshop builds your knowledge and gives you the confidence to pop-up in public. At the end of the series there is an opportunity to form partnerships so you can pop-up in public to put your new knowledge to the test.

Each session follows a theme, as outlined below:

Week 1: Monday 20th September - Getting Started

  • What you need to know
  • Setting a budget -
  • Action planning for a pop-up

Week 2: Monday 27th September - Marketing and Promotion

  • Free or cheap methods you can use
  • Getting started with social media
  • Photographing your products and using images
  • Outlining your marketing strategy

Week 3: Monday 4th October - Pricing Method and Tips

  • Different Pricing Strategies
  • Pricing strategies including offers and bundling
  • Guidance on individual pricing - bring your products along
  • Top tips - a few do's and don'ts!

Week 4: Monday 11th October - Display and Engaging Customers

  • Display and selling techniques
  • Using space creatively and effectively
  • Talking to customers
  • Building contact
  • Your questions answered by an expert panel.

WHEN AND WHERE?

The workshops are taking place from 6-9pm, every Monday from from 20 September for four weeks at Nonsuch Studios, Nottingham. There is also an independent research task to complete outside of the workshop hours.

You must attend all four sessions in the series, if you are unable to do so, please email us directly. Please register for each workshop separately.
