WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Our half day workshop covers all the basics needed to use a phone camera competently and creatively within a small business for your social media platforms and website illustrations. You will learn:

• What you can expect to achieve using a phone - and what you can't

• Composition - the essential dos & don'ts

• Lighting - why this matters and how best to control it

• Portraits - how to achieve a good head and shoulders shot, essential for staff profiles

• Shooting small products in a workshop/craft or production environment - how to show your products in a well-lit, 3D way using what you have to hand

• Post production filters and editing for Instagram and other social media

The event is given with a fully illustrated lecture, and the session will have hands-on break out exercises for shooting practice, ensuring everyone leaves with phone camera confidence and a plan for shooting their products, events and staff for successful social media marketing.

WHO IS IT FOR?

Entrepreneurs, start-ups & SMEs who need a cost-effective way to photograph their business activities, staff & premises for use on social media, blogs, websites & printed promotional material.

**You must bring your smartphone & charger with you on the day.

WHO IS LINE+LIGHT?

Established in 2008, Line and Light have delivered hundreds of photographic courses for groups and individuals under their own banner and also on the behalf of businesses, organisations and public sector bodies at a variety of locations across the Midlands.

Line and Light’s training workshops aim to educate and inspire individuals/businesses and allow them to produce high quality, creative images in-house using their own camera equipment or phones, allowing them to moderate their marketing budget in a sensible way.

Line and Light run regular workshops for The Royal Photographic Society and The Royal Institute of British Architects. They have trained staff for Toyota UK, run CPD programmes for architects’ practices nationally and regularly train individuals to help their business's marketing. Paul Mottram is currently working with Punch Taverns PLC to deliver training in iPhone photography for social media across the UK.
