WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

The first half of the session will be led by Tina Smith who will provide guidance on being funding ready and will look at how to prepare a compelling application. Tina will go through the criteria and top tips for ACE Project Grants, providing some examples and case studies. There will be an opportunity to reflect on your own project grant idea, ask questions and where appropriate get follow up advice.

The second half will be led by Ryan Boultbee and Charlie Collins from NJITA, who will share their personal experience of successfully securing ACE project grant funding. Using NJITA projects as case studies, Ryan and Charlie will share valuable lessons on preparing applications, developing partnerships and top tips for first time applicants.

WHO IS TINA SMITH?

Tina Smith has worked in the arts sector for over 20 years, starting out at the Arts Council where she worked for both the East Midlands offices and National Office facilitating strategic partnerships and projects to benefit artists and audiences. Tina assessed and evaluated arts capital and project grant applications and after leaving the Arts Council utilised her knowledge to become a freelance assessor and independent creative and cultural consultant. Tina has a proven track record in supporting artists, arts organisations and recently secured significant funding for UK Young Artists and Bamboozle Theatre.

Tina currently works part time with Bamboozle Theatre Company developing multi-sensory experiences for profoundly disabled children and their families and Aakash Odedra Company (contemporary dance) as their fundraising consultant building and managing relationships with new and existing statutory funds and trusts and foundations.

WHO ARE NJITA?

‘No Jobs in the Arts’ create professional development opportunities for early-career creatives working in the Visual Arts, through projects linked to the East Midlands. They deliver a creative program of events, talks, exhibitions, mentoring, and publications. NJITA is a project run by early career creatives, Ryan Boultbee and Charlie Collins.

HOW DO I BOOK TICKETS?

This event is free, but space is limited. You must be enrolled with The Big House and/or RCF-D. By booking a place you ae comitting to receive four videos as well as attend 2 group coaching sessions.

PLEASE NOTE: The Big House events are free to you, because they are funded – however there is a cost attached to them for us and we are a not-for-profit organisation. So, if you have registered to come, your place will have been paid for. Our events are very popular and we often have a waiting list. With this in mind, if for any reason you are unable to attend it is very important that you cancel your ticket on Eventbrite as soon as possible, to enable someone else to take your place.

If you have already accessed 12 or more hours of support you may be placed on a waiting list - your place is not guaranteed until you receive confirmation from RCF-D Team.
