On September 10, in Nottingham’s Creative Quarter, The Big House EXPO will give them the opportunity to showcase their skills and expertise, to exchange ideas, to explore opportunities to work together, to sell goods and services to each other, to celebrate their achievements and the success of The Big House.

As part of our Meet the Buyer/Meet the Supplier event you have the opportunity to exhibit your skills and services to the more established businesses in our area. If you're thinking about taking part but have a few questions about the day, we've put together a small FAQ to put you at ease.

Who’s signed up so far? Buyers and suppliers?

We have had around 20 applications to take exhibition stands so far! A mixture from crafts, video production, marketing and more. Buyers are still signing up and we’re going to be giving a big push to make sure the established D2N2 businesses get down to the event.

When you say ‘meet the buyers/suppliers’ is there any way that that’s facilitated or is it just an open expo/fair?

It is an open exhibition where the buyers and procurers from the companies and organisations in our area can come down to meet you and your business.

Will anyone be there from outside Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire?

We are pushing this as far as we can! The event is focused on connecting our local businesses but we hope we can attract attention from a variety of sources.

Who is this for? Everyone that’s been signed up to The Big House?

Expo is for the enrolees of The Big House in the first instance although other businesses will be considered. It is not just crafters and makers but the whole Creative & Digital spectrum of businesses.

Is there any delineation in the layout between creative makers, and creative B2B businesses?

Yes there will be ‘groups’ of businesses for easy navigation.

Can exhibitors choose a location?

No, we will allocate based on you sector & your requirements for power etc.

Are there any costs beyond production of marketing material and time?

It is FREE to exhibit & FREE to attend.

If you take a stall/stand are you able to leave it to look at other things?

If you have a stand you are free to network with the other stands, though it is recommended that you work as a small team to constantly have someone run your stall.

Does the stall have to be installed in the morning and taken down before the evening event? 11am-3pm?

Set up is from 9am & take down from 3pm. If you would specifically like to remain set up for the evening event as well, we may be able to accommodate that dependent on the number who wish to do this & space required for the evening.

Is there the ability to have a stand design / television screen / more elaborate design or is it just a table? Is there a spec’?

We provide a table / chair / cloth with space for a pop-up banner behind. Stand spaces are either 3ft or 5ft. If you wish to put a tv & bigger display you would need to ensure it fitted with either the 3 or 5ft space.

Are the masterclasses in a separate area to the ’stalls/stands'? Presumably they’ll be on PA so could dominate people’s attention?

Masterclasses will be silent disco style with a full programme for everyone who enters & larger timetables inside the church. They are held at the front of the church & the expo at the back.

They should not disturb your pitches.

Who is giving the talks/masterclasses?

We have variety of people confirmed so far (facilitators from The Big House) with more to follow. They will be 15-20 min blasts of info, changeover & then another. The programme will be released very shortly.

Is this stage of the day more about The Big House and selling what it does or is it to sell the people/businesses that have been through the scheme?

The EXPO is about the people & businesses that have gone through the programme not The Big House at all. This is YOUR time to share YOUR business, get involved and be part of it.
