Creative Skillset, the industry-led skills body for the screen industries, has commissioned Nottingham-based education provider Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies to run Industry Weekender - a FREE two-day intensive boot camp, designed to introduce individuals with relevant skills to a career in high-end TV drama production.
The boot camp is supported by the High-end TV Skills Fund, managed by Creative Skillset. It will feature two days of workshops, talks and demos, delivered by some of the best producers, writers, directors and industry professionals working in TV today.
Industry Weekender will take place in Confetti’s new centre for music and arts, Metronome. Professional crews from shows including Shane Meadows’ forthcoming series The Virtues, God’s Own Country, Utopia, Bedlam, Stan Lee’s Lucky Man, Beaver Falls, The Innocents and Doctor Who, will be highlighting the key roles and illustrating the essential skills that bring TV drama to life. Keep your eyes on our Twitter account for guest speaker announcements.
Confetti CEO Craig Chettle says:
Nicky Ball, Creative Skillset Senior High-end TV New Entrant Manager says:
Industry Weekender takes place Saturday 3 – Sunday 4 November 2018 and invites applications from anyone over the age of 21. Whether currently working in similar creative industries, or skilled in areas such as hair and make-up, carpentry/set design, electrical work and looking for a career change - no TV experience is necessary, just a passion for TV drama. The event is specifically aimed at behind-the-camera and technical roles within the high-end TV drama industry.
