In Good Company and Derby Theatre announce brand new scheme that will pay four freelance theatre producers to work with local theatre makers for 12 hours to get their projects back on track post Covid19.
The world has changed dramatically in the last seven months. The entire industry feels like it’s ground to a halt. Theatres have been closed; entire years of work cancelled in a matter of hours. This catastrophic rupture in our lives has impacted the independent sector more than most and has left many people’s plans in tatters.
The Big House: Produce is a brand-new free support programme offering you the opportunity to work with a producer.
Local independent arts producers Hannah Stone, Rafia Hussain, Phoebe Wall-Palmer and Courtenay Johnson have been selected via a procurement process earlier this year and will act as consultant producers and tour bookers for local theatre companies to help them get their plans back on track.
Who is eligible? Theatre makers and companies based in the Nottinghamshire or Derbyshire area and who have seen a change in plans due to the coronavirus pandemic and subsequent lockdown resulting in new shows or projects being delayed or changed.
Priority will be given to new or existing Big House clients who have received under 12 hours of support so far.
How do we access it? Sign up as client of The Big House. Being a client of The Big House programme allows you to learn new skills through regular workshops, get one-to-one mentoring and get a clearer picture of where to go next with your career or business idea.
Once you’re signed up, or if you are an existing client, you will then attend a scoping meeting with our Creative Producer Ben. Based on your needs, we’ll then put together a bespoke package of online workshops and one-to-one mentoring, including potentially pairing you with one of our consultants on our Big House: Produce programme to help get you on the right track, and ready to make your next step.
