WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

This workshop will cover social media basics in order to promote your business online. From Facebook to Instagram, pinterest to LinkedIn, social media can be a daunting place for a new business, and this workshop will help provide you with confidence and the knowledge to help your business thrive online.

This workshop is suitable for those who have very little experience with social media, or for those who use social media for personal use from time to time but haven’t yet used it to promote their business. We’ll guide you into creating a Facebook business page and/or Instagram page and help debunk any myths along the way.

This social media workshop will also include a content workshop, to help you understand what you should be posting on your business page. From uploading images to using hashtags, this workshop will provide you with the confidence and know-how to start building your business on social.


WHO IS LAUREN AHLUWALIA AND EMMA GLOVER?

Lauren Ahluwalia is a digital marketing manager with expertise in social and paid social media. Lauren has worked for award-winning digital marketing agencies in Nottingham and has also worked in-house at partypoker, delivering international Facebook advertising campaigns.

Since joining Facebook’s She Means Business campaign, Lauren has delivered Facebook and instagram training sessions across the UK and online to help Facebook reach their target of training 50,000 women a year. Lauren has worked with large organisations including the United Nations and partypoker, yet she also provides expertise to SME’s and entrepreneurs.

Emma Glover is a freelance social media expert, providing consultancy to businesses across the East Midlands. After working at award-winning digital agencies across the world, for brands including Kellogg's, Barclays and XBox, she began her own venture in 2018.

Emma holds 1-2-1 and group workshops, as well as assisting large agencies with campaign strategy ideation and delivery. She is passionate about growing the next generation of digital marketing experts, and mentors students in her spare time.


HOW DO I BOOK TICKETS?

This event is free, but space is limited. You must be enrolled with The Big House and/or RCF-D. Space is limited, so make sure to book your ticket today to guarantee your place.

PLEASE NOTE: The Big House events are free to you, because they are funded – however there is a cost attached to them for us and we are a not-for-profit organisation. So, if you have registered to come, your place will have been paid for. Our events are very popular and we often have a waiting list. With this in mind, if for any reason you are unable to attend it is very important that you cancel your ticket on Eventbrite as soon as possible, to enable someone else to take your place.
