Breakfast Lecture Series For The Creative Community

Event information / agenda

A Big House Event supported by Mainframe from QUAD.

WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

In 2008, Tina Roth Eisenberg (Swissmiss) started CreativeMornings out of a desire for an ongoing, accessible event for New York’s creative community. The concept was simple: breakfast and a short talk one Friday morning a month. Every event would be free of charge and open to anyone.

Today, attendees gather in cities around the world to enjoy fresh coffee, friendly people, and an international array of breakfast foods. Volunteer hosts and their team members organize local chapters that not only celebrate a city’s creative talent, but also promote an open space to connect with like-minded individuals. The growing archive of past breakfast talks is humbling. From design legends to hometown heroes, speakers are selected by each chapter based on a global theme.

CreativeMornings remains free thanks to the support of local partners, generous venues, and long-term global partners. Everyone is welcome. Everyone is creative.

DECEMBER THEME - SILENCE

As the end of the year draws near, life can get humorously hectic. We rush to finish up projects, try to squeeze in appointments with loved ones, and can easily lose track of ourselves in the process.

Is this inevitable? Or can we find ways to ground ourselves amid all the chaos? In this busy season, create moments of stillness where you can.

When silence is intentional, it is valuable and restorative. It brings us back to our senses and is essential to our holistic well-being. Acoustic ecologist Gordon Hempton defines quiet as a ‘presence’ and ‘think tank of the soul.’ Silence is a powerful tool that allows us to take a step back from the atmosphere around us and realign with our intentions, our hopes, and ourselves.

This December, set aside time to tune out the noise. You can go for a walk outdoors, find a cozy corner, or simply close your eyes. The magic of silence is that we can access it wherever we are.

Our Montevideo chapter chose this month’s exploration of Silence and Dani Scharf illustrated the theme.

WHO IS PAUL INCE?

Paul Ince (known as BizPaul literally everywhere) is a strategist specialising in marketing conversations. He’s the founder and host of MarketEd.Live His children call him BizPaul and so you have permission to too. In fact, he prefers it – until, that is, he decides he’s only going to be known by an emoji.

With a career in tech-based marketing, it’s no surprise that he’s always looking forward to how developments in technology allow us to communicate more effectively with clients and customers.

WHO IS IT FOR?

Everyone is creative.

A creative life requires bravery and action, honesty and hard work. We are here to support you, celebrate with you, and encourage you to make the things you love.

We believe in the power of community. We believe in giving a damn. We believe in face-to-face connections, in learning from others, in hugs and high fives.

We bring together people who are driven by passion and purpose, confident that they will inspire one another, and inspire change in neighbourhoods and cities around the world.

Everyone is welcome.

WHEN IS IT?

Friday 20th December 2019 from 08.00-10.00am at QUAD.

HOW DO I BOOK TICKETS?

This event is free, but space is limited. Tickets are released one week prior to the event.

PLEASE NOTE: The Big House events are free to you, because they are funded – however there is a cost attached to them for us and we are a not-for-profit organisation. So, if you have registered to come, your place will have been paid for. Our events are very popular, and we often have a waiting list. With this in mind, if for any reason you are unable to attend it is very important that you cancel your ticket as soon as possible, to enable someone else to take your place.

We will be documenting the event. If you do not wish to be included in images or videos that may be used later for marketing purposes, please let us know beforehand.
