Prepare to Pop Up series back by popular demand

09 August 2018

Our successful workshop series ‘Prepare to Pop Up’ is back in September, after three sell out courses earlier in the year. The four-week series helps makers and creators understand how to plan, price, promote and present products at a market stall or pop up.

Aimed at designers, makers, crafters and creators with a creative or digital business based in Nottinghamshire or Derbyshire, the sessions are designed to prepare independent businesses for setting up a pop up or market stall to sell wares to new and existing customers.

Prepare to Pop Up workshops running Monday evenings in September from 6pm to 9pm

The four sessions cover everything small creative businesses need to know about trading, tips and tricks for setting your pricing and how to promote your pop up through social media and other networks. It also explores different ways to engage with customers with displays and creative use of space. Plus, there is an independent research task providing individuals with the opportunity to explore their businesses in more detail.

At the end of the four weeks, ‘Prepare to Pop Up’ graduates have the chance to take part in their own pop-up at THiNK, Cobden Chambers, to test out their new knowledge in a fun and welcoming environment.

"I attended the Prepare to Pop-Up series in the New Year. I found it extremely beneficial with insights into social media; the differences on the getting across your brand's message on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter and how to use your feed and "Stories" differently for different reasons, plus the importance of photography with great tips and how to showcase your product. "

"The attendees were like-minded individuals and it was great sharing tips and ideas in the break.  The Q&A mentor session was invaluable for a newbie by pre-empting any rookie and possibly costly mistakes. The course was fantastically well-organised, I would highly recommend it to anyone who is starting out in self-employment with a creative small business."

The course is ideal for any designer, maker, potter, artist, photographer or creator who wants to sell their products and services at trade fairs and craft markets or who wants to run a pop up to test demand for their business idea.

Each workshop builds your knowledge and gives you the confidence to pop-up in public and follows a specific theme.

Held at THiNK at Cobden Chambers, the series of three-hour workshops runs every Monday evening for four weeks from 18th June from 6-9pm.
